Yvonne Collier, is a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) and Certified Virtual Presenter (CVP) at Maddison Training. She is a seasoned Communication Behaviouralist. With expertise spanning multiple disciplines and methodologies, she specialises in empowering both individuals and teams to enhance their communication prowess. Through her tailored approach, Yvonne enables clients to effectively connect, engage, and collaborate, fostering improved teamwork and cultivating profitable relationships essential for both personal and business success.

She leverages experiential workshops, interactive keynotes, facilitation, and coaching across small, medium and large organisations. She facilitates a deeper understanding of effective communication techniques, resulting in heightened engagement, productivity, and profitability. With a diverse background spanning education, advertising, sales, and management, Yvonne has delivered over 2,000 events across 8 countries.

The new North Sydney Business Chamber aspires to serve, support and increase the socio economic health of the local business community. We want to do this with maximum input from our members, for our members.

As a long-term resident, property investor, and Allied Health business owner in the North Sydney area for 24 years, I've witnessed firsthand the remarkable development changes that have transformed North Sydney into the largest micro city outside of the Sydney CBD. Throughout my tenure, I've been deeply involved in the local business community and have seen the vital role played by the North Sydney Business Chamber (NSBC). Small businesses in our area often lack the resources and infrastructure enjoyed by larger organizations. Through the NSBC, these small businesses gain access to the resources provided by larger member organizations, fostering a more equitable business environment.

 1. Why is the NSBC important for the local business community?

The NSBC is crucial for the local business community because it serves as a unifying force, bringing together businesses of all sizes to collaborate, network, and advocate for common interests. By providing a platform for small businesses to access the resources and support typically available only to larger organizations, the NSBC helps level the playing field and enables all businesses to thrive in the competitive North Sydney market.

 2. What is one goal you want to see the NSBC achieve?

One goal I'd like to see the NSBC achieve is further strengthening its support for small businesses through targeted initiatives, such as mentorship programs, training workshops, and advocacy efforts aimed at addressing the specific challenges faced by smaller enterprises. By empowering small businesses to grow and succeed, the NSBC can contribute to the overall economic vitality and vibrancy of North Sydney.

I'm a passionate health writer and TV Presenter. When I'm not writing about health or presenting on TV, you can find me climbing great heights in the Blue Mountains and exploring this vast beautiful country by bicycle.

There is a clear need for businesses and business owners to connect, be supported and grow in North Sydney and the NSBC aims to create a safe space focused on enabling these outcomes for all businesses in the region. We are inclusive, dynamic and evolving, all of which mean that people can access us and enjoy a range of growth focused activities to strengthen connections within the community at times that work for you. 

2. What is one goal you want to see the NSBC achieve?

To become a vibrant, connected community, sharing and celebrating the successes of local businesses while supporting key growth or feedback areas that enable the expertise available across the chamber community and businesses of the North Sydney region, to shine.

My first business was as a piano teacher at age 16!

 1. Why is the NSBC important for the local business community?

As a business owner, being able to connect, reflect and share ideas with others in the local business community is vital for business success. If can be isolating being a business owner and having the opportunity to connect with likeminded individuals with similar experiences creates a genuine sense of connection.

2. What is one goal you want to see the NSBC achieve?

To create a strong sense of community with regular events and a clear sense of direction.

3. Fun fact 

I once went from Sydney to London at the age of 10 without a plane ticket. Back in the days when you needed a paper ticket to go anywhere.
